I love your videos and no hate here at all but I disagree that a 5 carat lab is quiet luxury. A diamond that is 5 carats captures attention rather than being quiet and understated. A lab also does not have the luxury tax that a natural mined diamond has. Beautiful ring though.

I actually kind of hate when ppl say diamonds are worthless bc they’re not. Just like crypto currency the people give it value. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I personally love diamonds and I low key don’t like the whole lab idea… but I get it!

How can “quiet luxury” be wearing a giant eye-catching shiny thing on your finger that everyone thinks you paid $10,000-$150,000 on 😂 Diamonds are common and worthless. Within 10 years people will buy perfect 3ct lab diamonds for $500. Blood diamonds may hold out longer but the demand will be so low for them that they will collapse as well.

I’m interested in elongated hybrid cushion cut diamonds, between 1.26 - 1.30 ratio. I know that the GIA report only uses the descriptors Cushion Brilliant and Cushion Modified Brilliant. GIA doesn’t use “hybrid” or “crushed ice”. Finding a Cushion Modified Brilliant that has a GIA Characteristic Drawing, with either 4 or 6 facets, which extend to the perimeter (hybrid) are hard to find. Does staying between a 1.26 and 1.30 ratio help reduce or eliminate the bow tie effect and at the same time allow me to choose a lesser color? If I choose a stone with a larger table (elongated 1.5 ct and bigger), don’t I need to increase the clarity to vvs2 or vvs1? Is it easier to source elongated cushion hybrid from LGD factories, instead of focusing solely on a ND?

Is there a point, when it comes to ratios, when the ratio is too high or too low (oval, marquise, radiant) that the stone's brilliance, scintillation, & fire will be compromised? In other words, is there an ideal ratio that an elongated shape will look as it should (not too chubby, not too skinny) & retain as much brilliance, scintillation, and fire as possible?

Lab diamonds are good for fashion but not giving to your wife. The last thing you want to do is buy real diamonds for fashion unless your rich because you won't get that value back like Gold can. I have 4 beautiful lab diamond chains at 6mm-12mm size stones, finding that at a store is next to impossible.
